This article continues with an analysis of the research “Women, armed conflict and peace: an exercise of individual and collective memory for the reconstruction of the social fabric in Caldas, Sucre and Chocó” within the Scientific Colombia program: “Reconstruction of the Social Fabric in Post-Conflict Zones in Colombia”. Particularly, the case of Afro women in Chocó’s department (Colombia), in Basurú’s villages in Istmina and Acosó in Condoto, are discussed. Starting from the intersectional factors that affect the situation experienced by women in relation to the armed conflict and analyzing the mechanisms of resilience and resistance developed by these women in response to the armed conflict. The information was developed from the reconstruction of individual and collective memory with men and women of the communities through biographical diaries and focus groups in relation to the topic of women before, during and after the armed conflict. As a result, intersectionality is proposed as a necessary postulate to understand the situation of Afro women from an integral reading of the armed conflict, hand in hand with the study of the responses of communities to this conflict framed in the different types of resilience and resistance.
