Abstract

The present study tried to establish the attachment style, presence and severity of simple and complex posttraumatic stress, and the quality and quantity of relationships in the net of support of 15 soldiers that were kidnapped 3 years by las FARC, 14 months after their release. The following instruments were used: 1) Bartholomew Attachment Scale, 2) SIDES-CR self report Scale; 3) The Trauma Center Symptom Scale for PTSD; 4) Net of support format; and 5) A semi-structured interview format. Two profiles are proposed, based on the results. Significative differences (p>.05) were found between attachment styles, and a) The severity of Simple PTSD, intrusion and constriction symptoms, b) Presence and severity of Complex PTSD, and alterations in attention and consciousness, self-perception, and system of meanings. Also, between the presence and severity of simple and complex PTSD symptoms and: a) Attachment styles, b) Size of the net of support; and c) Communication quality, and tendency of family relationships. Relationships with captivity partners were the best ones and more solid of the net of support.
