The article examines the practices of the out-of-school formation for the populations during the last three governments of the city of Bogotá that constituted a strategy which pedagogized the different spheres of urban life. The article highlights the most significant characteristics of these practices for contemporary debates on the production of new subjectivities, and on the relations between pedagogy and urban culture: the actualization in some elements of these practices of the historical tradition in Colombia of distrust towards urban life; the governments conception of citizenship and civility as the compliance towards a set of common and minimum rules; and the discrepancies between scholarizing and dramatic practices.
