In the present article, the author describes the process lived by young inhabitants of Ciudad Bolívar-one of Bogotá's poorest areas-throughout the research that served as base for the book Ciudad Bolívar: la hoguera de las ilusiones. By means of hearing and dialoguing, as well as by presenting these young people's stories tangled with their social contexts, and their experience with the Memory Workshop, the author approaches the imaginaries of youngsters from popular neighborhoods and their vision of the city
