Resumen
CHARRY JOYA, Carlos Andrés. So Close and Yet So Distant: Dividing Lines between the Fields of Sociology and History and the Practice of a New Historical Sociology. rev.estud.soc. [online]. 2017, n.60, pp.36-48. ISSN 0123-885X. https://doi.org/10.7440/res60.2017.03.
The main propose of this article is to reflect on the relations and interdependencies between sociology and history, and the consolidation of the field of historical sociology. Arguing that each discipline has been erected in relation and in opposition to the other, it holds that the development of a new practice of Historical Sociology not only requires overcoming the conventional idea that it is a combination of Sociology and History, but that it also refers to an exercise that involves the evolution of the frameworks of these disciplines, in which theorization plays a crucial role in the construction of knowledge.
