Abstract

GARCIA RAMIREZ, Diego  and  VALLE JIMENEZ, Dune. The Impacts of Technical Ideology and Algorithmic Culture on Society: A Critical Approach. rev.estud.soc. [online]. 2020, n.71, pp.15-27. ISSN 0123-885X.  https://doi.org/10.7440/res71.2020.02.

This article aims to reflect on a type of ideology that considers technological advances as the solution to all of humanity's problems, and to understand how computational algorithms delineate everyday behaviors and practices that shape an algorithmic culture. The reflection is framed within the technical-social relationship, a long-standing discussion, in which certain discourses have exalted only the benefits of technological advances, leaving aside the critical thinking that makes it possible to recognize the social, political, economic, and cultural implications that are generated from them.

Keywords : Algorithms; culture; Internet; social networks; technical ideology.
