Abstract
MARTI SAMPER, Alejandro. Primary central nervous system lymphoma imaged with FDG-PET/CT. rev.colomb.cancerol. [online]. 2013, vol.17, n.3, pp.126-129. ISSN 0123-9015.
Primary central nervous system lymphoma (PCNSL) is now known as a form of non-Hodgkin extranodal high-grade B-cell, usually diffuse large B cell, originating in the brain, leptomeninges, spinal cord or eyes, and usually remains confi ned to the central nervous system (CNS). The main risk factor is immunodefi ciency. It represents 4% of primary CNS tumors, with an incidence rate adjusted for age of 4/1,000,000/year. Positron emission tomography (PET) has shown to have an impact on staging impact patients with diffuse large B cell lymphoma, but there is limited experience in cases of primary CNS involvement.
