Abstract

CAMARGO S., SANDRA LILIANA; MEJIA R., GLORIA LUCÍA; HERRERA, AURA NIDIA  and  CARRILLO, SONIA. ADAPTATION OF THE PEOPLE IN MY LIFE QUESTIONNAIRE IN A SAMPLE OF COLOMBIAN MIDDLE-AGE CHILDREN. Act.Colom.Psicol. [online]. 2007, vol.10, n.2, pp.83-93. ISSN 0123-9155.

The purpose of this project was to conduct a validation study of the "People in My Life" Questionnaire (PIML; Cook, Greenberg & Kusche, 1995) with a sample of Colombian children. This study involved three main stages: analysis of reliability, validity and standardization. Findings showed satisfactory coefficients of internal consistency in our sample, correspondence of factor structure with the one proposed by the authors and classifications that allow us to identify different types of affective relationship for each factor. These results support the use of the PIML in our socio-cultural context.

Keywords : Attachment; middle- age children; measurement; validation study.
