Abstract

OBANDO, OLGA LUCÍA; VILLALOBOS, MARÍA EUGENIA  and  ARANGO, SANDRA LORENA. RESIELENCE IN CHILDREN WITH ABANDONMENT EXPERIENCES. Act.Colom.Psicol. [online]. 2010, vol.13, n.2, pp.149-159. ISSN 0123-9155.

This article contributes to the discussion on resilient processes and to the meaning of these processes in the development of children in an adoption condition. The adoption situation of Colombian children has been characterized from statistical data, political and legal regulation (ICBF, 2003; 2006; 2009; Presidencia de la República, 1960; 1984). Theoretical contributions to the study of resilience as a psychological process are discussed from the perspective of European, American and Latin American authors (Cyrulnik, 1999; 2001; 2002; 2003; Ungar, 2008; Bowlby, 1992; Villalobos, 2003; Crawford and Wrigt, 2005; Colmenares, 2002; 2006; Soarez de Souza and de Oliveira, 2006; entre otros). The child is characterized as a subject able to assume a resilient process, and based on findings from local research, consciousness, cognition, ethics and symbolization are identified as inherent constructions of resilient processes (Villalobos and Obando, 2008).

Keywords : Resilience; abandonment; psychological processe.
