Abstract

RONDON QUINTANA, Hugo Alexander; URAZAN BONELLS, Carlos Felipe  and  SANCHEZ COTTE, Edgar Humberto. Case study: Effect of SITP in flexible pavement structures in Bogotá. Tecnura [online]. 2013, vol.17, n.38, pp.109-120. ISSN 0123-921X.

The implementation of Integrated Public Transport System (SITP) in Bogotá D.C. requires reviewing the pavement design and maintenance in the main corridors through which circulate public transport lines. It is expected that SITP bring an appropriate transit behavior to the buses drivers: The use of the right side lane and the mandatory bus stops. These trends along with the lower feet and higher occupancy generate negative effects on pavement structures, showing the need to in-crease the dimensions or thickness of the pavements. The aspects reported in this study will assist to district agencies to include the roads design, construction and maintenance in Bogotá D.C.

Keywords : integrated public transport system; flexible pavements; mobility; transportation.
