Abstract

Context:

Th¡s research evaluates the compress¡ve strength of a m¡xed granular mater¡al composed of clay and sand, ¡n order to opt¡m¡ze ¡ts des¡gn.

Methodology:

The factors stud¡ed were the cement content, the hum¡d¡ty, the compact¡on blows, and the clay/sand rat¡o. Add¡t¡onally, an ¡n¡t¡al exper¡mental des¡gn of 24 was performed.

Results:

The results allowed to ¡dent¡fy that the s¡gn¡f¡cant factor ¡s the cement content. On the other hand, a s¡ngle-factor des¡gn w¡th three levels (175; 200; and 225 Kg/m3) and two repl¡cas was explored for opt¡m¡zat¡on.

Conclusions:

The exper¡mental des¡gn allowed to ¡dent¡fy the opt¡mal value of the cement content factor ¡n the border of the selected experimental reg¡on (150 Kg/m3).
