Abstract

MARTINEZ, Ruth Aralí;. Treatment of acute phase of dengue fever: a systematic review. Infect. [online]. 2008, vol.12, n.4, pp.277-286. ISSN 0123-9392.

Dengue is the disease caused by arbovirus of greater incidence in the world and its economic impact on the productivity of the affected countries is very important. Nevertheless, until the moment there is not any specific therapy for this disease and there are very few studies on the subject. This review compiles the results of the original studies that exist in literature about medicine interventions in humans to treat dengue during the acute phase of the disease. The following topics were included: fluid replacement, antipyretics, treatment of bleeding, treatment of thrombocytopenia, use of corticoids and other therapeutic interventions.

Keywords : Dengue; shock; treatment; drugs; hemorrhage.
