Abstract

GUERRERO AFRICANI, Marcela L.  and  TOBON, Fernando. Working conditions of Odontology Teaching staff at the National University of Colombia. Rev. salud pública [online]. 2000, vol.2, n.3, pp.272-282. ISSN 0124-0064.

Both an objective and a subjective assessment of working conditions in three facilities of the National University of Colombia School of Odontology were carried out. With the adapted Lest method, employed for the objective evaluation, a grading of 7-8 was obtained, corresponding to strong physical disturbances and fatigue caused by biological and chemical contaminants, conditions of the physical environment, security conditions, mental load and physical exertion. For the subjective assessment the survey for self assessment designed by the Spanish National Institute for Security and Hygiene at Work was applied, with some adaptations, to 48 university career teachers of the School of Odontology. The results show that the teachers adapt to working under the conditions present in their working places.
