Abstract

Objective

To describe the most significant factors for cardiovascular risk in Military Police (PM).

Method

This is an integrative literature review. The search strategy was performed using the combination of descriptors: police, risk factors and cardiovascular diseases; in the VHL (Virtual Health Library) portal and in the LILACS databases.

Results

The present study was constructed by a sample of 04 articles, which were selected according to inclusion and exclusion criteria.

Conclusions

It is concluded that the most significant factors for cardiovascular risk in Military Police officers are related to physical inactivity, eating habits, overweight/ obesity and stress. All these factors predominate in male PM working in the operational area, that is, ostensible policing, and with longer service time.

Keywords : Police; risk factors; cardiovascular diseases (source: MeSH, NLM).
