Abstract

MARIN ESCOBAR, JUAN CARLOS. PROSOCIAL BEHAVIOR IN PEOPLE LIVING IN THE MODELO AND LOS TRUPILLOS NEIGHBORHOODS IN BARRANQUILLA. Psicogente [online]. 2014, vol.17, n.31, pp.211-225. ISSN 0124-0137.

This paper focuses on the findings of a study which describes the prosocial behavior in a group of people who live in Modelo and Los Trupillos neighborhoods in Barranquilla. 75 people were sampled in this study. In order to collect the data, a natural approach was used in which the participants were asked to take part in a social survey as it related to helping the children and elderly in that area. As a result 45.33 % helps and 54.66 % does not help. Likewise it was obtained the following information: Those who help are practicing believers of a religion; they help more women than men and people between 20 to 40 years old.
