This paper analyses how the principle of integration works in criminal law, offering an interpretation of the relationships between human rights and criminal law, showing the tensions among the State criminal law expansionist ideologies and a right-based perspec tive. Furthermore, it analyses the principle of integration of international treaties in the Colombian Constitutional text and its relation with the concept of Constitutional Block.
