Abstract
REYES, BRYAN VARGAS and SANTAMARIA, ROSEMBERT ARIZA. Liberation of Mother Earth: Between the Legitimacy and the Social Uses of Illegality. Estud. Socio-Juríd [online]. 2020, vol.22, n.1, pp.203-231. ISSN 0124-0579. https://doi.org/10.12804/revistas.urosario.edu.co/sociojuridicos/a.7641.
The historical treatment and the current management given to the right to territory in the head of the ethnic groups of the country have led to the struggle of their rights transcending legal-institutional areas, which generates new spaces of conflict and resistance from where the legal, illegal, and alegal aspects will be approached. In this context, the Nasa people of the North of Cauca resist the dispossession and the displacement to which they have been subjected through the liberation of mother earth, a political and ecological process of taking land by advocating for the defense of the territory in the face of abuses of chemicals and monocultures. From the accompaniment to the communities of northern Cauca, the tension between legitimacy and social uses of illegality in the processes of defense and struggle for the territory is problematized.
Keywords : Social uses of illegality; liberation of mother earth; indigenous peoples; social resistance.
