This paper aims to map the most important articles related to the reforms introduced to the Law on the Execution of Deprivation of Liberty (Law 24660) between 2004 and 2017. We will put these legislative decisions in dialogue with the most recent decisions. of the Inter-American Court of Human Rights in matters related to standards of execution of the sentence and conditions of detention. Finally, we will show that the reforms violate the principle of progressiveness of the sentence and cause problems in the material conditions of life in prisons.
