Abstract

CANETE DUARTE, Rossana. Female Consumers with Aggravated Vulnerability in Chile: A Human Rights and a Gender Perspective Approach. Estud. Socio-Juríd [online]. 2023, vol.25, n.2, e07.  Epub Oct 18, 2023. ISSN 0124-0579.  https://doi.org/10.12804/revistas.urosario.edu.co/sociojuridicos/a.12924.

This research analyzes the aggravated vulnerability in consumer law. The thesis proposes that it is necessary to incorporate a human rights approach and a gender perspective in order to apply the concept of 'aggravated vulnerability' to female consumers, considering that, under the paradigm of structural discrimination, women constitute a disadvantaged group. Structural discrimination conceptually contributes to determining 'totalizing experiences' as a theoretical proposal for Chilean experiences that affect the collective interest of women consumers.

Keywords : Female consumers with aggravated vulnerability; human rights of women; consumer law.
