CAMARENA-ADAME, María Elena. Training in SME Directed by Women in the City of Mexico. rev.univ.empresa [online]. 2019, vol.21, n.37, pp.76-107. ISSN 0124-4639. https://doi.org/10.12804/revistas.urosario.edu.co/empresa/a.6467.
The objective of this research was to conduct a characterization of the training of SMES led by women and to analyze the relationship between the level of studies of the entrepreneurs and the application of administrative tools. We applied a structured direct questionnaire to a sample of 272 volunteer entrepreneurs from Mexico City and carried out a descriptive and correlational analysis. The main findings show that most women entrepreneurs acquired entrepreneurial knowledge as part of their family inheritance and more than half of them have taken business-training courses, mainly in administration, accounting, marketing, and organization. A high percentage of these companies do not have training programs. There is a relationship between the level of studies of the entrepreneur and the application of administrative tools for organization and decision-making. Not having training programs limits the development of their companies, since it is an important factor for generating value in them. Because of this, it is essential that business training education is included from the very beginning of the company to achieve a high level of competitiveness.
