Reflectively the aim is to recognize the realities of yacón internationalization as an innovative and alternative product for the Colombian agricultural sector. In this documentary-type descriptive analysis, academic texts were reviewed, classified, and compiled to visualize the greater theoretical referents representation in terms of the proposed thematic pillars. Those were the internationalization of companies, the agricultural sector in Colombia, and the characterization of the yacón. Among the main findings identified are the benefits and opportunities for improving companies' internationalization in Colombia's agricultural sector and yacón's international marketing, as well as the elements contributing to strengthening the country's primary economic sector since product internationalization.
