YEVENES-JARA, Juan Carlos; MANSILLA-OBANDO, Katherine  e  GUINEZ-CABRERA, Nataly. What is the Profile of our University Students? Characteristics of Entrepreneurial Behavior in Southern Chile. rev.univ.empresa [online]. 2022, vol.24, n.43, pp.1-.  Epub 25-Nov-2023. ISSN 0124-4639.  https://doi.org/10.12804/revistas.urosario.edu.co/empresa/a.12197.

The characteristics of entrepreneurial behavior are part of the personality of human beings, which can arise from the needs for achievement, power, and affiliation. The objective of this research was to study the entrepreneurial behavior characteristics of university students according to their interests, which is essential for designing study programs that, through entrepreneurial education (EE), strengthen the development of new ideas and companies. Through a quantitative methodology and a descriptive analysis, and a variance analysis (Anova) of different cohorts, the variables of the characteristics of entrepreneurial behavior of 358 university students of the Faculty of Business Sciences (commercial engineering, computer science civil engineering, and public accountant and auditor) from two university campuses in southern Chile were examined. The findings indicated that entrepreneurial behavior characteristics differ widely based on the cohorts studied, with differences in gender and discipline but not in geographic location. This evidence could support the design of EE plans in higher education, given the characterization of the admission profiles of first-year university students from the Faculty of Business Sciences to the different educational disciplines of the university in question.
