Resumen

ECHEVERRI RUBIO, Alejandro; VIEIRA-SALAZAR, Jaime Andrés  y  URREGO-BADILLO, Jhon Fabio. Future Research Lines in Post-Pandemic Tourism. An Analysis of the Literature. rev.univ.empresa [online]. 2023, vol.25, n.44, e9.  Epub 08-Mar-2024. ISSN 0124-4639.  https://doi.org/10.12804/revistas.urosario.edu.co/empresa/a.12116.

This article systematizes the literature related to COVID-19 in the tourism industry. The use of a search formula in Scopus® made it possible to identify the scientific cartography from 527 articles published between January 2020 and May 2022, which provides timeliness and relevance compared to similar studies found in the available bibliography. The description is made up of three main themes, namely: (a) impacts of COVID-19 on the different stakeholders' tourism chain, and (b) impacts of COVID-19 on production units related to tourism. The results show that the research carried out to date has focused on descriptions mainly from the theoretical views, with a clear absence of empirical studies that support such descriptions, for instance, a more inclusive, sustainable and responsible tourism. In this way, the future research on tourism issues and COVID-19 is called to present empirical evidence that allows us to know whether or not the descriptions meet these challenges of inclusion, sustainability and responsibility. This article ends by presenting four different lines for future research.

Palabras clave : COVID-19; tourism; pandemic; bibliometric.
