Objective:
To identify the most significant challenges faced by commercial and service enterprises in Ecuador and how these can be addressed through artificial intelligence (AI).
Methodology:
Utilizing a quantitative-descriptive approach and a non-probabilistic intentional sampling method, a survey was administered to 31 companies. The findings revealed a low general level of awareness regarding AI, particularly among micro and small enterprises, while only medium and large companies have begun to implement it.
Main Results:
The primary anticipated benefits of AI include process automation, enhanced operational efficiency, and increased sales. Companies' expectations regarding ai encompassed obstacles such as data protection, integration of AI with existing systems, a lack of knowledge about these technologies, and insufficient understanding of their ethical implications.
Conclusions:
AI can be a key tool in addressing the growing competitiveness and improving customer service, with process automation being the most relevant solution.
