Abstract

A synopsis of the species of Centris (Ptilotopus) that occur in Colombia is presented as a contribution to the knowledge of the wild bees of the country. We identified seven species: C. americana, C. denudans, C. derasa, C. dimidiata, C. erythrosara, C. nobilis and C. superba. Morphological characters of both sexes, new occurrence records and an identification key for the species are also provided.
