Resumen

MOSQUERA MURILLO, Zuleyma; CORDOBA ARAGON, Karen Everni  y  MOSQUERA MOSQUERA, Mairin Minerva. Generic richness and distribution of efemerópteros (Insecta: Ephemeroptera) from Chocó Limnological Collection. Biota colombiana [online]. 2022, vol.23, n.2, e1049.  Epub 22-Jun-2022. ISSN 0124-5376.  https://doi.org/10.21068/2539200x.1049.

We reviewed 1148 specimens of the order Ephemeroptera kept in the Chocó Limnological Collection(CLCH) , covering 21 municipalities (between 5 and 3202 m a.s.l.), in 71 water currents of different order, 12 lentic ecosystems of the Atrato, San Juan and Baudó Rivers basins. Seven families and 25 genera are reported, of which Ecuaphlebia, Ulmeritoides, Asthenopus, Mayobaetis and Choroterpes are recorded for the first time for the Chocó. The family Baetidae is the most abundant and has the widest distribution, while Oligoneuriidae is the least representative. The greatest taxonomic richness is recorded by the families Leptophlebiidae (9 genera) and Baetidae (7 genera). Thraulodes, Baetodes and Terpides are the genera with the highest altitudinal distribution, and rock is the substrate with the highest specific richness (23 genera). The Atrato River basin has the largest taxonomic record. The data presented in this study show the great diversity of the order Ephemeroptera in the department of Chocó and the need to carry out new investigations that expand the knowledge of its richness and distribution in the region.
