Abstract

RAFFO LOPEZ, Leonardo. SKAPERDAS AND SYROPOULOS MODEL. Rev.econ.inst. [online]. 2007, vol.9, n.17, pp.153-181. ISSN 0124-5996.

This paper offers a detailed exposition of Skaperdas and Syropoulos model, a main model of the theory of conflict and state’s emergence. First, it describes the model’s Nash equilibrium and the relevant effects of comparative analysis. And second, from a new interpretation of the equilibrium and comparisons with other similar models, the paper concludes that it constitutes the most general analytical framework in the subject, which can be understood as the foundations for a general theory of conflict and state’s emergence.

Keywords : conflict; war; state’s emergence; Nash equilibriums.
