ABSTRACT This paper reviews the national and international literature on the relationship between return migration and entrepreneurship. Consulting secondary sources, we present the causes of return migration and the theories that explain it. In addition, we describe the results of the reviewed studies, carrying out a comparative analysis of the methodologies and the data used by the most representative ones. Finally, we present a critical reflection, highlighting what is known about the subject and the gaps that still exist, along with some recommendations for future research.
