Abstract

VIESENTEINER, Jorge Luiz. Nietzsche and deleuze: on the art of transfiguring. discus.filos [online]. 2011, vol.12, n.18, pp.187-204. ISSN 0124-6127.

This article aims at articulating the concept of transfiguration through the theoretical confrontation between the philosophies of Nietzsche and Deleuze, especially regarding the idea of an experimental philosophy. This is done from a theoretical common point between both philosophers, namely, the detachment of a conceptual understanding of existence, i. e., the attempt to overcome any moral, logical, metaphysical shields, etc. mechanism that stands as an interpreter between man and life. Our hypothesis is that the notion of transfiguration is the horizon with which Nietzsche and Deleuze shift the conceptual requirement at all costs, to the detriment of the dialectic and in favor of the experimentation with life.

Keywords : conceptual understanding; experiment; transfiguration.
