Abstract

Objective: Depict the factors and sexual risk behavior, protective factors for sexual and reproductive health, students of undergraduate academic programs on-campus at a university in the city of Manizales. Materials and methods: Descriptive quantitative study randomized, cross-sectional , in which assessment tool is applied to 140 undergraduate students face. Data analysis was performed on SPSS 18 software. We performed univariate and bivariate analysis, using nonparametric techniques and chi - square statistic Kendal Tauball. Results: Most students have no support networks, they show a lack of knowledge about family planning methods, including those belonging to the health authority. Within the protective factors found little incidence of sexually transmitted infections, low consumption of psychoactive substances, minimum and congregational support abortion practices. Compared to cross variables indicating a risk factor with those indicating a protective factor found a negative dependence between the increase in alcohol consumption when the number of times a person gathers decreases, there is less number of sexual partners in the larger congregation day have. Conclusion: It is recommended that multicenter studies that include more variables related to sexual and reproductive health of adolescents university, especially those that deal with specific phenomena attitude, meanings and beliefs about sexuality.
