Abstract

RODRIGUEZ-BURGOS, Karla; MARTINEZ CARDENAS, Alán Alejandro  and  RODRIGUEZ-SERPA, Ferney Asdrual. Empirical study on the democratic values of tolerance and respect in the millennial generation. Justicia [online]. 2017, n.31, pp.135-150. ISSN 0124-7441.  https://doi.org/10.17081/just.22.31.2603.

The present scientific investigation article is developed from the interdis ciplinary confluence of several lines of investigation around one of the most important axiological problems of the millenarian society: the values of toler ance and respect. In this sense, the present study yields reliable quantitative results from the surveys applied to students of public universities of the State of Nuevo Leon, Mexico, which allow to account for the status of these two values, which inevitably enter into permanent crisis before the constant move ments provoked by the economy, the technological developments as well as the new habits and customs emerging from a global society in constant change. However, this article from another perspective promises to highlight the posi tive aspects of these values in the middle of the tensions that present us today, such as the issues that involve the acceptance of sexual, ideological, racial diversity, among other differences.

Keywords : Millennial generation; Respect; Tolerance; Democratic values.
