Abstract
PITA PICO, Roger. The judicial proceedings for love affairs between masters and slaves in the New Kingdom of Granada in the colonial period: inequities, strategies and opportunities. Justicia [online]. 2019, n.35, pp.213-243. ISSN 0124-7441. https://doi.org/10.17081/just.24.35.3401.
The purpose of this article is to present both qualitatively and quantitatively the results of a research work on civil and criminal trials developed in the New Kingdom of Granada during the period of Spanish domination in relation to the sentimental links between masters and slaves. With this study of historiographic character it is tried to auscultate the difficulties that experienced the slaves in their demands and the strategies applied by the masters in the podiums to avoid responsibilities. In the end, it was possible to demonstrate how the slave population in the midst of so many obstacles managed to appropriate the existing legal and judicial resources to claim their social and sentimental rights.
