Abstract

ARIAS-ROMERO, Carlos Orlando et al. Construction of common and collective spaces: conceptual contributions to urban territory. Bitácora Urbano Territorial [online]. 2016, vol.26, n.1, pp.9-22. ISSN 0124-7913.  https://doi.org/10.15446/bitacora.v26n1.58028.

The city transformation is a complex process that involves administrative, economic, technical, social, political or ideological variables. These variables are understood as dimensions for the analysis by some authors. So, this investigation text talks about common and collective spaces and tries to mix the urban theory, proposed by authors like Borja, Harvey or Carrion, with the practice in organizational processes in Bogotá and with the Colombian law. To do that, the starting point is a critic perspective that promotes the construction of the city from the people who make part of it, that limits the homo-genization in the analysis, and that looks for proposals and transformation of the urban environment, especially of the public space, contributing to materialization of collective common spaces.

Keywords : urban configuration; public space; common space; urban space; social appropriation; city model.
