Abstract

FLOREZ-BALLESTEROS, David  and  RODRIGUEZ-RUIZ, Javier. Land use planning in Colombia: violence, war and resistance. Bitácora Urbano Territorial [online]. 2016, vol.26, n.2, pp.37-44. ISSN 0124-7913.  https://doi.org/10.15446/bitacora.v26n2.59300.

In the context of the peace negotiations between the national government and FARC, it is necessary to raise the expansion of democracy through territorial planning mechanisms. Peace only can be consolidated through the political participation of all stakeholders, especially, those who have been excluded. The reasons of the armed conflict in Colombia are two: 1) the struggles for land tenure and 2) the political representation. Therefore, peace must be brought about from the territories and communities affected by the conflict, which have the ability to build a new system based on hope and reconciliation.

Keywords : Peace accords; land planning; political participation; democracy; land tenure.
