Abstract

This article narrates a process of communication and collaboration between students of architecture, planning and design, and inhabitants of Buena Vista, Santurce, one of the eight districts adjacent to Caño Martín Peña in San Juan, Puerto Rico. This collaboration led to an urban and architectural intervention, in common and private spaces, that communicate collective aspirations. One of the objectives of the workshop that facilitated this process is that of bridging the gap that often exists between academia and practice, and between technical knowledge and the experience of inhabitants.
