Abstract

The paper sets some considerations for possible urban interventions according to sustainability, climate change and heritage conservation criterion on Malecón Tradicional, an area with urban, architectonics and landscape values in Havana. It analyzes the historical evolution of the Malecón, its physical and environmental characteristics, and the different projects for that part of the city, as an understanding tool of the relationship between the urbanism and the sea border. Nowadays, the Rehabilitation Plan for Malecón Tradicional has been put into effect. However, the scope of the strategies under the economical narrow circumstances doesn't guarantee the buildings and infrastructure preservation as rapidly as it's needed.
