Abstract

GARCIA, Lourdes Pilay. VISUAL SCENARIOS FOR GRAPHICAL INTERPRETATION OF CONCEPTS. Bitácora Urbano Territorial [online]. 2017, vol.27, n.spe4, pp.39-46. ISSN 0124-7913.  https://doi.org/10.15446/bitacora.v27n4esp.62901.

Graphic design is a discipline that promotes the creative development of ideas and concepts, either in academic or professional practices, with the purpose of innovating in the communication and graphic construction of a final product. However, one of the main issues observed in design during the graphic production of an idea, is the quickness to execute a task and the lack of intervention of lateral thinking as an instrument to seek new creative alternatives through the introduction of visual scenarios. Following, a participatory observation methodology is applied with students in the fourth semester of the Graphic Design Workshop course that allows the observation of tactics in the production of a concept. The exercise exposes the answer to "commoditize" meaning for a faster graphic execution in the final phase of the assignment. The key idea of the exercise is go from the evident to the transformational.

Keywords : lateral thinking; commodity; concept; graphic production; visual scenario.
