This paper aims to analyze the effects on territory due to neoliberalism taking as a case study the Island of Cascajal, the island zone of Special, Industrial, Port, Biodiversity and Ecotourism District of Buenaventura, in which, Afro-descendant communities have intensified the processes of social resistance in the face of the urban renewal actions advanced by the district administration in favor of transnational capital over lands earned to the sea.
