Abstract
SILVA-ROQUEFORT, Rebeca and MUNOZ, Francisco. Urban ergonomics as an adaptative strategy of public space. A critical analysis of the current urban paradigm. Bitácora Urbano Territorial [online]. 2019, vol.29, n.2, pp.159-168. Epub Aug 30, 2019. ISSN 0124-7913. https://doi.org/10.15446/bitacora.v29n2.70141.
The concept of ergocity arises from the systemic approach of ergonomics and its correlation with its comfort criteria and welfare applied to the city. The methodological approach used here characterizes the public space, identifying and describing the factors that negatively affect its quality and the assessment people give them, through a set of physical and perceptual indicators, making possible to integrate their view, and their relationship with objects and the environment to urban design and planning. In conclusion, a new critic knowledge arises in relation to the improvement of public space as a guarantee of its adaptation to people and the way they inhabit spaces, to be incorporated into the planning and development mechanisms of our cities and territories, avoiding the continuous adaptation of people to the built environment.
