Abstract

VERA, Paula. Symbolic-spatial logics in conflictive processes of urban transformation. Approach to Rosario’s case, Argentina. Bitácora Urbano Territorial [online]. 2022, vol.32, n.1, pp.205-218.  Epub July 11, 2022. ISSN 0124-7913.  https://doi.org/10.15446/bitacora.v32n1.88167.

This presentation tries to advance in the understanding of the process of production of the space and the social effects generated by the dynamics of urban regeneration departing from the case: "Transformation of the University campuses of Rosario and its surroundings". Starting from the phenomenological theory of social imagery, the objective is to identify some elements of the network of senses where this process unfolds. For this, a qualitative methodological strategy with a socio-anthropological approach is implemented. As a result, four symbolic spatial logics are presented: make visible-make invisible, lose-win, abandon-recover and impose-dispute. These logics make up the matrices of meaning on which the conflicts around this process of urban transformation are based.

Keywords : urban life; urban renewal; university campuses; social conflicts.
