BOJORQUEZ LUQUE, Jesús; CORREA RAMIREZ, Jhon Jaime  and  GIL PEREZ, Anderson Paul. Authoritarian neoliberalism and geographies of resistance. The Great National Strike in Colombia, 2021. Bitácora Urbano Territorial [online]. 2022, vol.32, n.3, pp.137-149.  Epub Dec 02, 2022. ISSN 0124-7913.  https://doi.org/10.15446/bitacora.v32n3.101402.

The structural adjustment policies typical of the neoliberal model in Latin American countries have prompted an increase in social mobilization that demands the guarantee of human rights and the attention of the social State of law. Government responses have oscillated between harsher legal repression and violent repression by police forces and the army. Using a qualitative methodology, based on an exploratory case study, this reflection article aims to analyze the National Strike in Colombia in 2021, through the concept of authoritarian neoliberalism, adding the contributions of the geographical discipline in the study of social movements in power disputes that manifest themselves in public space.

Keywords : neoliberalism; authoritarianism; protest movements; oppression; social conflict.
