MOLANO TOBAR, Nancy Janneth; VELEZ, Raquel Amalia  e  VILLAQUIRAN, Andrés Felipe. PHYSICAL ACTIVITY IN WOMEN WITH RHEUMATOID ARTHRITIS, POPAYAN, COLOMBIA. Investig. andina [online]. 2020, vol.22, n.40, pp.165-183.  Epub 18-Jun-2020. ISSN 0124-8146.

Introduction:

Base pathologies limit people from different dimensions, and because of fear, they do not do any physical activity, but a self-regulated intervention is beneficial to the physical as the mental aspect.

Method:

Randomized and longitudinally controlled study with 34 women who have rheumatoid arthritis. They were in a physical activity program for 6 months and were evaluated by specialized medical staff who were supporting the project. The flexibility type, blood pressure, cardiorespiratory response to exercise were cataloged and anthropometric variables were established.

Results:

It was evident that the experimental group improved significantly (p = 0,00) in all variables, while the control group shows variations that could affect their health.

Conclusions:

Regulated and constant physical activity is a great contributor to limit the base pathology process, helping to regulate pain and associated symptoms.
