This paper focuses on sharing an experience about the use of the artificial intelligence tool ChatGPT in formative research processes in the Research Seedbed on Environmental Accounting and Corporate Social Responsibility belonging to the QUIPUS research group of the Faculty of Administrative, Economic, and Financial Sciences of Fundación Universitaria del Área Andina This aim is developed through a literature review and the systematization of the experience using the mentioned artificial intelligence tool. The results show that the tool is not suitable for constructing state-of-the-art literature reviews, building bibliographies, and, of course, for crafting essay-type texts, articles, and reviews. Likewise, the imperative need for an ethical use of the tool and absolute respect for copyright is identified; finally, it is identified that Chat GPT constitutes an impressive support for the design of Information Collection Instruments.
