URREGO PENA, José Alejandro  e  ROJAS MORA, Fabio Arturo. EXPERIMENTAL ROCKETRY MISSIONS: THE SENECA MISSION, AINKAA 1 ROCKET. Cienc. Ing. Neogranad. [online]. 2010, vol.20, n.2, pp.53-64. ISSN 0124-8170.

This paper outlines the methodology and results while conducting a systematic research work related with the implementation of experimental rocketry missions. In this process, data and results were obtained to support experimental concepts about propulsion, aerodynamics and ballistics for a rocket aircraft with no active control elements aboard. For the analysis and implementation of this mission, a method divided into stages was created. First, it was carried out the validation stage and a preliminary and theoretical design; then it followed the simulation stage by using specialized software and finally, the stage of the construction process and procedures for launching. The implementation of this experimental rocketry mission it was reached an apogee for the rocket ainkaa 1, of 780 meters above the launching surface, an impact speed of 526 km/h, and a burning time of 3.2 s. The rocket was powered by a "Candy-like" fuel, classifying this mission within the high-power category.

Palavras-chave : experimental rocketry; solid propellant; rocket motor.
