This article validates a design methodology for a wireless telecommunications network to extend rural connectivity in Andean areas of Colombia in the post-conflict framework. The presented methodology allows the design of different types of networks according to geographic information of the urban-rural area of the municipality of Marulanda, located in the region of Caldas, Colombia. Internet connectivity will be delivered through a self-managing telecommunications technology known as WiBACK, which will support future 5G communication technology. Thus, the advantages and disadvantages of two network topologies are compared and a projection of the technological components for the implementation of the network is presented. The results of the research will design the roadmap and the comparative evaluation of the expansion scenarios of the Colombian broadband access network in post-conflict scenarios.
