TARAPUEZ, Edwin; FLOREZ LAISECA, Adriana and RAMIREZ, Jorge Humberto. VARIATION IN FOOD PRICES SUPERMARKETS IN THE CITY OF ARMENIA (COLOMBIA). Tend. [online]. 2017, vol.18, n.1, pp.68-84. ISSN 0124-8693. https://doi.org/10.22267/rtend.171801.65.
The main objective of the research that led to this article is to analyze the change in price of a basket of 129 foods in supermarkets in Armenia (Colombia), taking into account the variability of the same in accordance with commercial establishments surveyed and its area of location within the city. This is a non-experimental descriptive, longitudinal section, which was performed by comparing food prices in seven commercial establishments in the city at three points distributed between August and October 2014. Regarding the location of supermarkets in the city, no significant difeerence was found in the variability of food prices analyzed during the study period in the three areas of the city, however itself may notice some price variability according to the type of supermarket. Despite the marked methodological diferences of this research with respect to DANE, the price variation in the two-month study was lower than that found in this work.
