Abstract

CHALAPUD NARVAEZ, Eduardo David. TECHNOLOGICAL INNOVATION: AN ECONOMIC THEORY PERSPECTIVE. Tend. [online]. 2023, vol.24, n.2, pp.170-196.  Epub June 27, 2023. ISSN 0124-8693.  https://doi.org/10.22267/rtend.232402.232.

This research is based on a descriptive-bibliographic qualitative methodology, a review of the theoretical and conceptual contributions on technological innovation elaborated by the most relevant approaches of economic theory, and how their application continues to influence organizations, sometimes with the support of the State. The result indicates that the different economic currents develop structural ideas that are currently taken into account in increasingly innovative business processes and are oriented to give rise to competitiveness, technological change and institutional sustainability in an uncertain market. In addition, the article leaves some points for reflection on the usefulness in economic growth of principles such as division and specialization of labor, production as a source of innovation, knowledge management, cooperation networks, creative destruction, technological evolution, value extraction and resource utilization in economic evolution.
