Abstract

USUGA OSORIO, Carmen Elena et al. MICORRHIZATION AND FERTILIZATION EFFECT ON BIOMASS ACCUMULATION IN BANANA PLANTS (Musa AAA cv. Gran Enano) (Musaceae). Rev. Fac. Nac. Agron. Medellín [online]. 2008, vol.61, n.1, pp.4269-4278. ISSN 0304-2847.

The effects of independent an combined factors such as inoculum type, fertilization and organic matter application on the percentage of association of 'H.M.A' in banana plants (Musa AAA cv. 'Gran Enano'), and on the accumulation of leaves and rrots material, were evaluated under greenhouse conditions. Natives samples of inoculums from banan agro-and natural ecosystems of Urabá (Antioquia-Colombia), a commercial sample and a pure inoculum of Acaulospora morrowiae were used. Respect to fertilization half, total and twice doses recommended for soil analyses and plants requirements; these doses were applied with and without organic matter. The no application of the factor were used as control. The results showed that factors with greater impact on the percentage of association of 'H.M.A' in banana plants (Musa AAA cv. 'Gran Enano'), and on the biomass accumulation were those in which mycorrhiza were used and organic matter was added. Furthermore, results showed a positive behavior regarding to the use of native samples from banana agroecosystems and low fertilization.

Keywords : Greenhouse; mycorrhiza; fungi; nutrition.
