RAMIREZ CASTANEDA, Fernando; GOMEZ PIEDRAS, John Jairo  e  FLOREZ RONCANCIO, Víctor Julio. Evaluation of the Worm Organic Liquid Fertilizer San Rafael on cv. Classy Rose Crop. Rev. Fac. Nac. Agron. Medellín [online]. 2011, vol.64, n.2, pp.6147-6157. ISSN 0304-2847.

Fertilizer application is one of the main technical activities made in rose crop, but it may cause an important environmental impact. The use of organic fertilizers has been low in this crop. An organic fertilizer as vermicompost contributes with some elements in better available forms, and improves some soil physical characteristics. The purpose was to evaluate the addition of worm liquid organic fertilizer San Rafael to complete commercial fertilization and to decrease 25% of its composition per bed, measuring weekly its effect on yield, degrees of quality flowering stems, breakdown flowers buds, and foliar analysis in rose plants cv. Classy. Results indicate that for foliar analysis and different quality degrees (stem and flower sizes) no significant differences were registred between treatments. It was found significant differences in yield, being greater the average of plants treated with the complete fertilization formula plus the organic fertilizer. For the flower bud breakdown the treatment that applied the reduced fertilizer formulates plus the organic fertilizer was statistically lower than other two treatments.
