Abstract

MUESES-CISNEROS, JONH JAIRO. The Amphibian Fauna of the Valle de Sibundoy, Putumayo-Colombia. Caldasia [online]. 2005, vol.27, n.2, pp.229-242. ISSN 0366-5232.

The amphibian fauna of the Valle de Sibundoy consists of 32 species placed in two orders, five families and seven genera. Of these, five are new species and whose descriptions are in process. The altitudinal ranges are enlarged for seven others and three are new records for Colombia . Although there have been herpetological collections made from the late 1960s, this study is the first one carried out in Putumayo (one of the least sampled departments of the country).

Keywords : Fauna of Colombia; Amphibia; Valle de Sibundoy; Putumayo.
